We grow the old indigenous cultivars that were named by prof. Hugues after the town of Piran as early as the year 1903. These cultivars are as follows: Piranska Štorta/Štorta of Piran; Piranska Černica/Černica of Piran; Piranska Komuna/Komuna of Piran, and others. Each olive cultivar has its own characteristics. The Piranska Štorta is a table olive variety which is processed with the local salt, harvested in the saltpans of Sečovlje.
